A prayer request for our 2009 Summer event season!

Last week as we started to plan our summer event schedule, I began to get discouraged. The devil wanted me to think that we couldn’t do this. It was as if we weren’t good enough for what God has called us to, and as if we weren’t ready to go to a higher and deeper level of our music ministry.

Well, through a series of events yesterday, I was lead by the Lord to Isaiah 61:1-3 which reads:
“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’S favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion –
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.”

I don’t believe I need to tell you how much our world needs a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
As with the entire Word of God, this passage of Scripture is just as relevant today as it was when it was written.
Why am I telling you this?

We believe God has given us this Word for our ministry, and we would like to ask you to stand in prayer and believe with us that this indeed is “the year of the Lord’s favor”. Will you stand with us? Will you please pray with us? Will you believe with us that God will expand this ministry?
If you are willing, here are a few requests we’d like to share:
That God would lead us to the places (whether it be churches or otherwise), that He has set divine appointments up for ministry this summer
That the hearts of the people we are led to partner with would be open to our ministry and the Word that God has given us to share
That we would daily find encouragement in the Lord, and that He would renew a right spirit within us
That the Lord would prepare the hearts of those we minister to for intimate worship and an incredible encounter with Him
That all planning (travel and otherwise) would go smoothly and according to God’s perfect will and plan
And, that many lives would be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit!

The Lord knows our hearts, and He hears our prayers.

If you or your church would like to be involved in our summer event season, or if God is leading you to share what’s on your heart regarding our ministry; don’t hesitate to leave your feedback in the comments section!
Thanks, and have a blessed 2009!
